Q: What is a Zine?
A: A zine (pronounced “zeen,” like “magazine”) is a self-published, small circulation, non-commercial booklet or magazine, usually produced by one person or a few individuals.
Q: How will you choose guests and contributors for your zine?
A: We will select guests and contributors based on our IC feedback and Application responses.
Q: How many contributors will you have?
A: Contributor selections will be determined based off recommendations and feedback collected in our Interest Check.
Q: Can minors participate?
A: All participants MUST be 18+.
Q: Is the zine SFW or NSFW?
A: Saddle Up will be a SFW main zine with NSFW digital add on.
Q: Will Saddle Up be a physical or digital release?
A: Saddle Up will be a physical release along with digital version. NSFW portion will be a digital add on.
Q: Is Saddle Up Zine for-profit?
A: Yes, Saddle Up with be a for-profit project.

General Guidelines
All participants must be 18+.
Saddle Up is a cowboy, western, stockshow and rodeo themed zine. Content will be expected to be based on the relationship of BKDKBK within these themes.
Contributors are not allowed to discuss spoilers of Zine progress or content outside of the server until publication. Screenshots of content/discussions in the zine server are prohibited.
Contributors must submit work on time and follow schedule guidelines and comply with check ins. Communication will be made utilizing the zine server and contributor private channels. If contributors don't maintain contact and don't respond to check ins or mod inquiries, they may be considered dropped.
All works must be original and made to fit the theme of the zine. Previous works will not be allowed to be modified to use for the zine. AI generated content/Plagiarism/discovery of stolen works will also not be tolerated.
Please be kind and respectful to one another. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and we encourage you to express them BUT do so respectfully. No hate or bullying of any kind will be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to insults, harassment, racism, slurs, inappropriate comments, using nicknames to hurt others, spamming, etc.
Opinions, views and posts made by the mods and participants outside this server does not reflect the zine itself. However, we will not tolerate any of the above examples should it create a hostile environment during zine production for our mods and participants.

Contributor App Guidelines
Participants are allowed to apply for multiple positions (writer, artist, merch artist), but we cannot guarantee accepted contributors will be offered more than one role.Contributor Apps close on January 15th, 2025 11:59 PM EST.If there any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Writer Application Guidelines
What we're looking for:
2-3 pieces that you believe best showcase your abilities as a writer
You may submit an excerpt from a longer piece but at least one of your examples must be a completed one-shot.
at least one of the samples must be MHA/BKDKBK themed
Please make sure that each fic is between 1.5k and 3k words, meaning all fics combined should be no longer than 9k words
If applying for NSFW as well:
We do require that you submit at least one NSFW sample so that we can get an idea of what your abilities are as an NSFW writer
Please remember to put content warning tags at the beginning of each fic where necessary (not in the application, but on the file shared)
REMINDER: if you are submitting any Google Drive files, be sure that the permissions are set to be viewed by “anyone with the link” (this can be found in the share settings).
Artist Application Guidelines
What we're looking for:
2-3 samples that you believe best showcase your abilities as an artist
At least one sample should have a completed background
Two of your samples should be completed works (not a WIP/sketch/etc.)
at least one of the samples must be MHA/BKDKBK themed
If applying for NSFW as well:
We do require that you submit at least one NSFW sample so that we can get an idea of what your abilities are as a NSFW artist
Please remember to put content warning tags at the beginning of each fic where necessary (not in the application, but on the file shared)
REMINDER: if you are submitting any Google Drive samples, be sure that the permissions are set to be viewed by “anyone with the link” (this can be found in the share settings).
Merch Artist Application Guidelines
2-3 samples that you believe best showcase your abilities as an artist
At least one sample should be a merch item
Two of your samples should be completed works
All merch artist positions are required to be SFW due to physical release
REMINDER: if you are submitting any Google Drive samples, be sure that the permissions are set to be viewed by “anyone with the link” (this can be found in the share settings).
